We simply showed an upcoming P-Rod 5 colorway that can take a somewhat unexpected trip up California’s Pacific Coast Highway to draw upon the San Francisco 49ers’ team colors, a move that follows 2011’s Nike SB NFL Pack in reminding us that the Swoosh will require over because the league’s official outfitter in 2012 (assuming football’s not extinct at that time). It’s been a comparatively quiet year for the Reebok Zig Tech line, that uber-flexible technology that hit the shelves only a last year seems to have already calmed down a great deal. Few sneakers scream 90s design such as the Reebok Insta Pump Fury using its jagged patterning, layered construction, and typically loud colorways. We’ve heard a few disparaging remarks concerning the unorthodox design on these, but heads who can appreciate Reebok’s innovation be aware of deal with these 1993 classics. Fortunately the retro treatment has been generous, lately using the two pairs pictured above. We’ve got one out of Tron Team Purple and Orange, a super colorful sneaker that’s a few shades removed from a New York Knicks tribute. Such a great weekend it had been! As America celebrated its independence, sneaker heads nationwide finally copped the much-anticipated Air Jordan V ‘USA’. But that release has come and gone, and Sneaker News has another number of great sneaker selections that are ready to be stocked in your closet. Beginning, Jordan Brand dropped five (yes, five) colorways of the all new Air Jordan 2011 Q-Flight, which featured built-in Hyperfuse. Other notables included the Nike N7 Air Max Destiny basketball shoe, which all of us can see has a very ‘South Beach’ theme happening. The Kobe Bryant x Nike SB Zoom Koston 1 hit select retailers, with eBay likely being the lone viable option, as well as Vans got in about the preserve with three new summer-picnic inspired releases.
